Willow, the missing cat from Colorado, which was found five years later in Manhattan, and identified, thanks to a RFID chip.
I have two engineering degrees and for all practical purposes I am at least a 50% geek, but I was still overwhelmed when HDTVs became so affordable that almost anyone could buy them. While I do watch some TV, I am not crazy about it and that is why Lorena and I were happy with our old Sanyo set that worked just fine.
It so turned out that Xfinity forced us to upgrade our cable to a program that has high definition by default. In other words, we were paying for HD but watching standard television. That is when I finally found time to put my research skills to choosing a television.
Our television is in the family room, a huge room with 10 foot high windows and doors. In other words, plenty of light during the day and we tend to sit on a couch about 15 feet from the set. Our research showed that we would be better off with LCD (plasma is not appropriate and LED is overpriced right now) and anything between 45 and 50 inches would be a good compromise because we could use this one for a few years and if the technology changed significantly we could upgrade without feeling too bad for the sub-$1,000 expense.
Vizio offered everything that we were looking for and the price was very competitive and we couldn’t be happier. Everything about the TV is great and we are very pleased.
